Tiger claw kung fu is a style of Chinese martial art that is based off the movements of an attacking tiger including fast and powerful striking. Some of the techniques include those of a clawing or tearing nature.
Jeet kune do is of course the concept based martial art system created by martial arts legend and film star Bruce Lee. Considered by many to be the precursor to MMA, Jeet kune do (or JKD) breaks down combat into four different ranges – punching, kicking, grappling, trapping. Very similar to boxing, muay thai, wrestling, bjj as seen in today’s MMA.
The following YouTube video is a sparring session between representatives of each of these martial arts and the difference in styles is something to behold. Now it is tough to say who is representing each style but it’s most likely that the man in the yellow pants is from tiger claw kung fu and the guy in jeans is from jeet kune do.
The rapid fire punching techniques by yellow pants is often indicative of kung fu while the guy in the jean shorts has similar movements to the late Bruce Lee.

While both are not trying to injure each other, many of the techniques are thrown quite hard, particular the kicks. Tiger claw is the clear aggressor which makes sense as it is an aggressive style of kung fu. JKD guy is looking to counter by the looks of it but is running straight back too much, instead of using side to side movement.

It’s tough to say who got the better of whom in this one. The tiger claw practitioner lands the better punches and is the aggressor while the JKD guy just lands a couple hard kicks to the body. Tiger claw surprisingly did better in this one just by a hair though.
