Putting a 48 year-old man up against a 25 year-old in an amateur MMA bout seemed like a recipe for disaster, right up until the moment he put his opponent away with a perfectly timed knockout blow!
The bout took place in the ‘Arrows Street Fight’ organization, a Russian outfit that have been hosting tournaments for the past five years that controversially allow anyone to fight, regardless of their age, background or level of experience.
That’s how the pasty looking, out-of-shape old man found himself going up against an opponent young enough to be his son, with an incredible 23-year age gap between them coming into this fight.
Worse still, as the bout began it quickly became apparent that the younger man knew what he was doing, as he quickly uncorked a spinning wheel kick, though thankfully it didn’t hit the target.

However, soon after the 25 year-old was able to land a double-leg takedown and ended up in side control.
You could be forgiven for thinking that things were looking bleak for the old man at this stage, but he was able to kick off his opponent and then find enough space to pop back up to his feet.
Back at striking range there was a brief lull in the action, then the old man attempted to land a punch and narrowly avoided a head kick in return.
As the old man looked to go back on the offensive, his younger opponent suddenly swooped into another takedown attempt, only to be greeted with a perfectly timed knee to the face that slumped him to the ground for an unexpected and impressive KO finish!

Despite the controversial nature of their shows the ‘Arrows’ promotion are currently expanding their operations overseas, with an event at a secret location in the United States planned in November, while another show is set to take place in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil in December.
