When a boxer fights a wrestler the result is usually going to be the same. The wrestler is usually going to take the boxer down at will and beat him up on the ground. While both boxing and wrestling are effective martial arts in their own right, wrestlers are generally just bad match ups for boxers.
This is because the boxer has to be in close to land his strikes and it is very easy for the wrestler to take him down from that range. And if the boxer doesn’t know how to fight on the ground he is in trouble.
A wrestler’s take down ability can also make the boxer hesitant to throw his strikes out of fear of being taken down.

In this exciting, amateur MMA fight from ‘Arrows Street FIght’ we see a wrestling-based fighter fight a boxing-based fighter but it doesn’t go like you’d expect.
The boxer is patient to begin but not completely tentative. He does get taken down and dominated by the wrestler but he is able to defend himself and survive.
The boxer eventually is able to reverse him on the ground and then starts to tee off once he is on top and his punches have much more power than his opponent’s did. He doesn’t let up and connects with a great right hand once they’re back on the feet that KO’s his opponent in exciting fashion, much to the crowd’s delight.
