If you fight Michael Bisping, be prepared to trash talk for months. Yoel Romero has the next shot at the UFC middleweight champion, and the bickering began while Romero was still in the Octagon at UFC 205 having just flying kneed Weidman into a loss.

During a recent appearance on Ariel Helwani’s The MMA Hour, Romero said he was not impressed.

“Michael Bisping just speaks to speak, he just talks to talk,” said Romero via a translator, as transcribed by Dave Doyle for MMA Fighting. “He just tries to open his mouth so that something can be heard, but nothing’s going to come out.”

“In Germany I meet with the Cuban wrestling team. And I have a great reputation around the world for wrestling, and at that time Rampage Jackson and Michael Bisping shared same training camp in England and they both asked me to help out, and Michael Bisping said he would love for me to help him with wrestling.”

Romero declined. Earlier this year Romero was suspended by USADA, and Bisping later said he wouldn’t fight Romero even if he wins, due to the failed test.

“How can this man, this old man have that physique?” asked Romero. “How can that man beat these younger athletes? The answer is there, they just don’t want to see it. It’s not me, it’s God.”

“I’m still the #1 contender just because I don’t have that belt on my waist yet, that’s why I’m still #1 contender and not the champion. Now for the next fight I won’t be the #1 contender anymore, I will be the champ.”

It is believed that Bisping and Romero will fight sometime in the spring.
