In the latest public display of Dana White’s disdain for Jake Paul, the UFC president actually defended a fighter for a competing promotion when slamming the YouTuber turned boxer’s recent comments on Claressa Shields.

In the lead-up to her PFL Championship bout on Wednesday night, two-sport athlete and two-time Olympic gold medalist Shields was asked about the idea of competing against combat sports lightning rod Paul in a boxing bout. A question the PFL fighter scoffed at by explaining she could destroy him in a legitimate scrap because “I box for real. I’m not a play-fighter.”

Dana White hopes Claressa Shields runs into Jake Paul one day and ‘knocks him the f*ck out’

On Wednesday night, things got very real when the 26-year-old tasted defeat for the first time in her fighting career when she came up short against fellow prospect Abby Montes by split decision. Soon after her defeat, Paul took to Twitter to revel in the “GWOAT’s” setback. Calling her a “fake” and “loser,” with a “prima donna attitude.”

UFC boss Dana White has never been shy about giving his opinion on the social media star turned pugilist Paul. Especially since White has been a frequent target of Paul when bringing up the ills of fighter pay in MMA. Following today’s UFC 267 weigh-ins in Abu Dhabi, White was asked by an MMA media member about Paul’s post-fight attack on Shields. And despite being a member of an industry competitor, White came to Shields’ defense when giving his latest thoughts on the Ohio-native “goofball.”

“Jake Paul calls Claressa Shields a loser? Claressa Shields is nothing but a winner, who actually fought real people in her weight class, at her own age, in her own sport. And then goes over to MMA and tries to win a world title. That’s not a loser, that’s a winner,” White said (via a video post from “>The Mac Life). ” When are you gonna start fighting someone your own f*cking age, your own weight, that actually fights in your own f*cking sport you’re claiming you’re in? Shut the f*ck up you goof ball. Dude, for you to call Claressa Shields a loser is f*cking unbelievable.”

“I hope he runs into her somewhere and she knocks him the f*ck out.”

Paul is expected to face Tommy Fury — the half-brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury — in his next bout in December. He moved his record to 4-0 in boxing following his August decision win over former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.
